What is how to do hanging indent on google docs?
Here's how to create a hanging indent in Google Docs:
Method 1: Using the Ruler
- Select the Paragraph(s): Highlight the paragraph(s) where you want to apply the hanging indent.
- Adjust the Ruler Markers: Look at the ruler at the top of the document. You'll see two markers for each side of the ruler; a top marker for the first line indent and a bottom marker for the left indent.
- Move the Bottom Marker: Click and drag the bottom marker (the small rectangle) to the desired indent position on the ruler. This sets the indent for all lines except the first.
- Move the Top Marker: Click and drag the top marker (the small triangle) to the left to return the indent position to left margin. By doing this you created a hanging indent.
Method 2: Using the Indentation Options
- Select the Paragraph(s): Highlight the paragraph(s) where you want to apply the hanging indent.
- Format Menu: Go to "Format" in the menu bar.
- Align & indent > Indentation options...: Select "Align & indent" and after that select "Indentation options..."
- Special Indent: In the "Special indent" section, choose "Hanging."
- Indent Size: Specify the desired indent size (e.g., 0.5 inches). This determines how far the subsequent lines will be indented from the first line.
- Apply: Click "Apply".
